Welcome to our latest newsletter! Ever wonder why some businesses soar while others fall flat? What’s the one thing that’ll really make your hauling business thrive? After a lot of thinking, I’ve come to one conclusion—it’s not your ideas, money, or who you know. It’s all about DESIRE.
Let’s break it down.
Is it Ideas?
Nope. Ideas are everywhere. Think about it—tablets existed long before the iPad, but it was Steve Jobs’ determination that turned it into a hit. Electric cars? They’ve been around since the 1800s. Elon Musk didn’t invent them; he just had the desire to make them mainstream. It’s not the idea that makes the difference—it’s the fire behind it that does.
Is it Money?
Not really. Plenty of businesses start with almost nothing. IKEA? Founded by a 13-year-old with hardly a penny. MailChimp and Craigslist? Built from scratch into giants. Look at Walt Disney—he went bankrupt but didn’t quit. Thomas Edison? Same story. They didn’t succeed because they had deep pockets—they made it because they had the desire to push through.
Is it Infrastructure?
Nope. Amazon tried copying Square’s card reader and failed. Google Plus? Flopped, despite being backed by one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Without the desire to keep pushing forward, even the best infrastructure won’t get you anywhere.
Is it People or Experience?
Not necessarily. You don’t need a huge team or decades of experience to win. Richard Branson started Virgin as a teenager, and tons of solo entrepreneurs have built successful businesses. Sometimes experience even holds you back because you’re too focused on what might go wrong. But those with desire? They push through all that and figure it out.
What About Connections?
Not even close. If connections were the key, every family business would succeed when passed down. But that’s not the case—most fail. Even with the best connections, if the desire isn’t there, businesses fall apart.
So What’s the Real Answer?
At the end of the day, desire fuels your business. Without it, even the best ideas, the most money, the biggest team, or the best connections won’t cut it. Desire drives you to find solutions, tackle challenges head-on, and keep pushing when things get tough.
In your hauling business, you’ve likely faced all kinds of obstacles—rising costs, more competition, and the struggle to find more leads. But if you’ve got the desire to grow, you’ll figure it out. It’s not about having the perfect plan or the biggest bank account—it’s about the will to keep moving forward, to try new things, and to learn every single day, even when you’re wiped out.
So, when you’re feeling stuck or uncertain, ask yourself: Do I have the desire to grow this thing? Am I willing to keep experimenting, learning, and trying new things until something clicks? If your answer is yes, then the rest will take care of itself.
